Becoming a staff member on Castaway is an important role and comes with a lot of responsibility. You will be the first person that a player goes to when it comes to any issues or questions they come across, and it's your job to make sure that everyone is following the rules. Recruit is the first staff rank in the staff hierarchy so this will be the rank you are given upon being accepted onto the staff team. Recruit is a trial rank and is not considered a permanent or official staff rank compared to the ranks above it. This rank is in place to test your abilities and capabilities as a staff member. You will be mentored through your trial period which usually lasts 4 weeks (however this can be longer in some cases). At the end of your trial period your assigned mentor and the staff manager will decide on if you will be promoted to the next and first official staff rank Helper. However, if you did not meet or exceed our expectations you will, unfortunately, be removed from the team after your trial period ends. You can be removed sooner depending on the person and case. You will be allowed to reapply in 30 days from your removal. This gives you plenty of time to learn from your mistakes before applying for a spot on the team again.

In order to be considered for a position on the Castaway staff team, you must meet all of the requirements listed here:

- You MUST be 13 years or older. Do not lie about your age in your application.
- You MUST have a functioning microphone.
- You MUST be able to record at 30FPS or more, as well as have a recording and screenshotting application downloaded.
- You CANNOT have been punished within 7-days of submitting your application.
- You MUST be able to communicate, write, and understand the English language well.
