Metropolitan Business Academy Student Ambassador Application
A Student Ambassador is a very important leadership and community service position within the school. Student Ambassadors have many roles and responsibilities from freshman all the way up through senior year and earn community service hours toward the graduation requirement. In this document, you will learn the expectations of a Student Ambassador and decide if you are willing to participate.

Read through the descriptions, and answer the questions. There are two sections, program overview and review questions, and the application itself. Please note that the program will look differently this year, so we may not be able to do some of the in-person activities listed below.

Dr. Chicoski will follow up with you through email, so please make sure you provide an email address you use frequently.

Section 1: Program Overview and Review Questions
Level 1 - Student Ambassador Training & Shadow Guide
As a Metropolitan Student Ambassador, you will be undergoing training in-person or virtually. We learn how to become better public speakers, how to talk about ourselves through "elevator speeches", and how to become a representative of Metro. We will be changing the way we meet with prospective students, but if we were in-person, you would be a Shadow Guide. As a Shadow Guide, you will be expected to come to school and meet your visiting student shadow in the main office. In many ways you are the person most responsible for their experience at Metropolitan. We will train you to do all of this when the time comes.
Level 2 – Metropolitan Student Ambassador Tour Guide
As a Metropolitan Student Ambassador Tour Guide, you will be expected to give tours to any visitors to Metropolitan Business Academy including community partners, business people, visiting families, members of the board of education, etc. We will prepare you for this when the time comes.
Level 3 – Metropolitan Student Ambassador Recruitment Team
As a member of the Metropolitan Student Ambassador Recruitment Team, you will be expected to prepare to speak about your experiences and how you have been able to take advantage of program offerings including internships, ISSP, special programs, clubs, career pathways, etc. You may be expected to participate in any of the following activities: (1) Presentations at Magnet Fairs or High School Transitioning Nights. (2) Presentations to Eighth Graders about program offerings at Metropolitan Business Academy and answering questions. (3) Other possible on-site or off-site recruitment events.
Level 4 – Metropolitan Student Ambassador Development Team
As a member of the Metropolitan Business Academy Student development team, you will be expected to consult with the Business Manager Office, administrators, teachers, and students, and to constantly think about the recruitment process and the Metropolitan Student Ambassador Program so that it can operate at its best. You may become Dr. Chicoski's TA in junior or senior year to help your Class run programming, like the yearbook, and more.
Not all Ambassadors are outgoing from the start. Many applicants want to join the Student Ambassadors so they can learn to be more comfortable talking and interacting with others. How would you describe your comfort level leading a group or talking in public? *
