The
Gulf Coast Animal Welfare Alliance is a new collaborative effort among animal shelters and rescues, businesses, and citizens to improve the lives of people and pets by addressing the root causes of our region's animal welfare challenges. Our vision is to
create a community where every pet is safe and free from suffering.
To establish a baseline, we are conducting surveys to map out what services are being provided, where, and by whom. At the same time, we are conducting surveys to understand more about the needs of pet owners and citizens and our opportunities to partner with health and human service organizations, civic groups, and churches. All of this information will be available so our Working Groups (forming in August) can make data-driven decisions as we take action to improve the lives of pets and people.
