Parent/Carer Responsibilities
1. I will show an interest in, support & encourage my child’s instrumental study and progress.
2. I will provide a suitable time and place for my child to practice.
3. I will supervise and encourage regular, good practice habits.
4. I will pay ALL music charges, associated with participation in the program, on time.
5. I will supply instrument accessories such as a music stand for practice, tutor book, reeds, strings, shoulder rests, etc. by
the 1st week of school for my child to commence lessons, and replace these as needed.
6. I will keep the instrument in good repair and provide my child with a safe place to keep the instrument.
7. I will return any hire instrument in need of repair to the school.
8. I will immediately report to the school any loss or damage of the hire instrument.
9. I agree to accept financial responsibility for loss of or damage to the instrument while on loan from the school.
10. I agree to buy my child his/her own instrument to enter the program, if no instrument is available, or after the initial
loan period of two years (except for large, expensive instruments).
11. I will ensure that my child attends all lessons, rehearsals, performances, concerts and camps.
12. I agree to provide my child with the correct performance uniform for applicable Ensembles.
13. I understand a refund of paid charges including instrument hire, is not possible if my child decides to cease instrumental music lessons after the end of Term 1 of the school year.
N.B. The school strongly recommends that the parent/guardian take out appropriate house and contents insurance to cover the instrument at all times while it is away from the school, including during transit and at performance venues.
