KWIB Bursary Application 2024
Kelowna Women in Business (KWIB) is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization focused on engaging and empowering the entrepreneurial and corporate professional women of Kelowna. We are proud to deliver meaningful and impactful programs and services underpinned by our core values of Connection, Inclusiveness, Collaboration, Community and Professionalism. 

To continue our support for higher education, we are excited to award a $1,000.00 CAD bursary to any woman who resides in Kelowna, or the surrounding area, and who is currently enrolled in any university, college or post-secondary program. We welcome nominations from anyone in the local community, including self-nominations. Please note this is a one-time award, and previous recipients are ineligible. 

To be eligible to receive this bursary, the successful applicant must:
  • Provide official receipt or proof of current enrolment within the year of bursary award (i.e. 2024).
  • Provide proof of residency in Kelowna or the surrounding area.
  • Provide official copies of receipts up to a maximum of $1,000.00 CAD. (Expenses that qualify under the bursary include: tuition, course materials, supplies, and associated designation fees.)
  • Agree to cross-promote KWIB social media content on their own social media platform(s).
  • Attend a special KWIB event and briefly speak to how the bursary will impact their studies.
  • Accept responsibility to determine tax implication for receiving a bursary. Visit canada.ca/taxes for calculation of exemption for bursaries in the tax year in connection with your full/part-time enrolment in an educational program, the calculation chart will help you calculate the amount of bursary income to be included on line 13010 of your Income Tax and Benefit Return. 
Applications must be submitted on or before May 31, 2024.
