Greater New York City  Black Nurses Association, Inc Nursing Scholarship Application
Purpose
The purpose of the Scholarship Award is to encourage and support the education of members of the Greater New York City - Black Nurses Association, Inc who demonstrate leadership and scholastic excellence.

Scholarship Fund
The amount of awards distributed depend on the availability of funds in the chapter scholarship fund.  Scholarships awarded are up to a maximum of $750 on a competitive basis using the following criteria:
1. Quality of personal statement and completed application
2. Contribution or potential contribution to the field of nursing and mission of the National Black Nurses Association  
3. Scholarship fund budget and number of applications submitted.

Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee consists of a chairperson and other members as designated by the Greater New York City - Black Nurses Association, Inc E-Board. The committee receives and evaluates applications and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for award approval. Presentation of awards will be made at the Greater New York City - Black Nurses Association, Inc Scholarship and Awards Ceremony.

Expectations
Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain active membership within the Greater New York City - Black Nurses Association Chapter and NBNA, Inc. Active membership means contributing to GNYC-BNA through attending   chapter meetings, events, and volunteering.
