Applicants may complete one application for all available HSJGA scholarships.  

**IMPORTANT**
If you have 100% of your tuition covered by grants or other scholarships, do not apply, unless you can re-purpose any or all of the other grant or scholarship money as the HSJGA scholarship covers tuition only.

ABOUT
The Hawaii State Junior Golf Association and First Tee-Hawaii offers annual scholarships, which are available to students currently enrolled or entering college.  Awards will be given to a limited number of students annually who complete the application process by the stated deadline and are selected by the HSJGA Scholarship Committee. In 2023, the HSJGA awarded $31,273 in scholarship funds.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Complete scholarship application below and PRINT before submitting.  
2. Submit CURRENT recommendation letters from at least two (2) reputable people with the community; please submit as an attachment by email (info@hsjga.org) or mail to the HSJGA under a separate cover by the deadline.  
3. Submit an official copy of your most current GPA and/or school transcript of grades.

All required documents (do not staple documents) must be mailed or emailed (info@hsjga.org) to the HSJGA by the deadline - Friday, April 26, 2024.

DEADLINE
The HSJGA Scholarship Committee must receive applications by Friday, April 26, 2024.  Finalists will be notified by phone/email by the end of June for a short, personal interview with the scholarship committee in July.  Please do not call to inquire about current status; finalists will be notified during the month of June.  Be sure to provide contact information and any travel in June and July.  Interviews will be conducted in person or by phone and should not exceed 15 minutes.

~C. PARDEE & BETSY ERDMAN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP~
ABOUT: Pard & Betsy Erdman of Kula have been long supporters of the HSJGA since it's inception in 1998.  They continue today to give of their time and resources to help the HSJGA develop, believing that the game of golf builds good character and citizenship.  They've spent most of their lives helping others.  They both exemplify the spirit of determination, integrity, generosity and selflessness.  The HSJGA is forever grateful for their friendship, passion and love.  In honor of these two outstanding individuals, the C. Pardee and Betsy Erdman College Scholarship has been established to assist with college tuition for a student who exemplifies some or all of the qualities and characteristics modeled by the Erdman's.

PURPOSE: To assist a full-time college student with the cost of tuition for one year in his/her pursuit of college study.  Please note again - this scholarship is for tuition only.

AWARD: Annual scholarships will be awarded to student/s attending or planning to attend an accredited 2-year or 4-year college/university.

ELIGIBILITY:
-A senior in high school or student currently enrolled in college
-A minimum of 2.75 cumulative GPA or equivalent
-A past or current HSJGA member (as of their senior year)
-State of Hawaii resident

SELECTION CRITERIA:
-Financial need
-Cumulative GPA or equivalent
-Representation of character
-Community/volunteer service

~THOS ROHR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP~
ABOUT: The Thos Rohr College Scholarship is sponsored by Waikoloa Land Company in the name of Thos Rohr.  This scholarship is an annual award for residents of Hawaii.  Thos Rohr, "The Commish", former President of Waikoloa Land Company, has a 50-plus year history of significant contributions to the game of golf, the Hawai’i golf industry and various golf communities and organizations. Rohr was the recipient of the 2007 Distinguished Service Award by the Aloha Section PGA, an award that is not given annually, but awarded to an individual for his/her unique contributions and dedicated service in the development and promotion of the golf industry in Hawai’i. As past President of Kapalua Land Co. (Maui), Rohr built the Bay and Village Courses with Arnold Palmer. Arnie created the “Golf Party” for Rohr, which began the tradition of professionals playing Kapalua. At Waikoloa Beach Resort, Rohr renovated the Robert Trent Jones Beach Course and built the Kings’ Course in partnership with Tom Weiskopf, while also conceiving and instituting the “Kings’ Cup” and “TieBreaker” golf tournaments. He is also a member of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, Scotland and a founder of Kingsbarns Golf Links.
