We take pride in raising what we think is the best breed of dog available, Golden Retrievers. Our dams have full OFA Clearances (Hips, Elbows, Eyes, Heart) and Genetic Screening (Ichthyosis, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Golden Retriever 1, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Golden Retriever 2 & Progressive Retinal Atrophy - Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration. Their full results can be found on K-9 data. We pick sires that also have full health clearances, which can also be found on K9 data.

Your Golden puppy will be thoroughly checked by a veterinarian and will have received its first set of shots, be current on deworming  at the time of puppy pick-up. A copy of your Puppy’s health records will be provided to you at time of pick up.

We provide a two year written health guarantee (see details below) along with the following assurances
• The Puppy is raised using the “Super Puppy Method” for the first two weeks after it is born;
• Where possible, puppies are placed with their new owners according to their personality traits and the home as described by the Buyer;
• The Puppy’s diets consist of Purina Pro Plan premium puppy food;
• The Puppy is microchipped
• The Puppy is Registered with CKC; and puppies
• The Puppy will have been socialized to children, farm animals, machinery, and a variety of different social settings.

Headstrong’s dogs are from working lines. They will be active, athletic animals with a need for ongoing physical exercise. These dogs are highly intelligent and extremely social. They require mental stimulation and human company to keep them happy, well-adjusted and well behaved.

Puppy training classes and puppy obedience classes in the Puppy’s first year are highly recommended, especially for Buyer’s who have not raised a Puppy before. A young Puppy will benefit from early socialization with other dogs and these classes will assist you in training your Puppy to be a well-mannered adult dog.
