DEC PAC Survey on Proposed Changes to the Federal Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Regulations

The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) Policy and Advocacy Committee (PAC) wants to hear from YOU! The DEC PAC is preparing comments on proposed changes to the federal Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) regulations, which provide funding for Child Care Subsidies or Vouchers for families with low income. Specifically, input is being requested on strategies to:

  • Lower families’ child care costs;

  • Increase families’ child care options;

  • Improve child care provider payment rates and practices; and

  • Make enrollment easier and faster.

Here are two resources you may find helpful, including 1) the Federal Register Notice: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/07/13/2023-14290/improv ing-child-care-access-affordability-and-stability-in-the-child-care-and-development-fund-ccdf and 2) specifically where Administration for Children & Families is requesting comments: https://www.acf.hhs.gov/occ/training-technical-assistance/areas-acf-requesting-comment-07132023-nprm

Please use the survey below to let us know what you think. Specifically, what would be helpful to families with young children with disabilities to ensure access to high-quality, affordable child care. What will benefit our kids and our communities?

Please share your comments to the DEC PAC by Monday, August 21st, 2023. Any questions? Please email Maryssa Mitsch at mmitsch@sfsu.edu.

Thank you!
