There are 30 countries legalized same-sex marriage worldwide, but there are about 70 countries still penalized same-sex relationships. Taiwan legalized same-sex marriage and became first in Asia in May 2019, however, we still have a lot more to work on for LGBTI rights, both internally and globally. Taiwan does have the potential to do more in promoting LGBTI rights beyond the border. Hence we'd like to invite speakers from Vietnam, Australia, the U.S. and the UK, to share their experiences in promoting LGBTI rights through foreign policies. We aim to encourage the government and the public to think about the possibilities and opportunities of LGBTI rights diplomacy.
台灣在2019年5月17日成為亞洲第一個通過同性婚姻的國家，然而我們都知道同婚通過只是下一波運動的起點。台灣豐沛的社會力、開放友善的文化，使台灣充滿潛力，可以在同志權益上發揮更多影響力，因此我們邀請到越南的運動者以及澳洲、美國和英國的駐台使節，從外交工作的角度，來跟我們分享他們如何參與及促進同志人權！
