Please complete the information in this form if you are interested in auditioning as a singer in the LMC. The form will be submitted to Karen Goff, LMC Artistic Administrator for review. She will contact you when auditions are being conducted to schedule you a time.

All auditions for the Lafayette Master Chorale are held at the Jefferson High School Choir Room. Lafayette Jefferson H. S. is at 1801 S. 18th street in Lafayette, Indiana. Admission of new members to the chorus is based on musical criteria and balance of the sections.

Lafayette Master Chorale Rehearses weekly on Monday evenings at Lafayette Jefferson High School from 7:00 to 9:30pm. Additional performance week Dress Rehearsals are usually scheduled during the week on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday.

Does your personal / work schedule allow you to commit to this type of rehearsal and performance schedule if selected to join the LMC? (please explain if needed)

Audition Expectations

You will be singing for the LMC director and an audition committee.

1. Vocal warm-ups to test the timbre and range of the voice (with piano)

2. Pitch matching recall exercises

3. Melodic and rhythmic music-reading

4. Singing a hymn or chorale of the director’s choice (with piano)

5. Singing an accompanied piece of your choice that is well prepared and suits your voice. As you select your music, please keep in mind that the Chorale prepares music that is generally of the traditional classic choral repertoire. An accompanist will be provided to play for your audition.
