Decibels Indie - ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Calling all bands, producers, singer-songwriters, film-makers and creatives under 25!

Decibels Indie supports young emerging artists to develop the networks and connections needed to become independent artists. Successful applicants receive professional mentoring, specialised workshops and project funds of up to $1,000.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the format of Decibels Indie has changed slightly to support projects that can be realised remotely – this could include (but is not limited to!);

 - The recording and mixing of original music – you record at home, and get some professional mentoring and help mixing, doing overdubs, mastering and releasing
- The organisation of an online festival or event
- The development of any new work – with professional mentoring, technical and marketing support
- Professional development, including ongoing mentoring from local artists and industry professionals

To apply, tell us about your music or creative project that you are wanting to get off the ground. Applications are judged on potential, enthusiasm and how well the project is thought out; not how developed, good or popular a band/act is right now. Applications open till May 10th, but will be assessed as they are received for projects beginning immediately!

Successful applicants will receive:
- Access to the Decibels staff and support
- Professional mentoring,
- Access to specialist workshops
- Project funds up to $1000

Applications and intake are open throughout the year, depending on  the capacity of Decibels Youth Music Centre.

12-16 projects are taken on each year, and it’s good to note that projects are chosen based on potential, enthusiasm and how well your project is thought out, not how developed, good or popular your band/act is right now.

Give us a call and have a chat about your project idea — this will help you make a better application and give us some insight into what you are about. This program is for young people who want to take charge of their own projects. You get to choose how to spend your project funds and take responsibility, making sure your project is on track and organised.
