27th September 2019 - Mental Health Awareness Training
Training is delivered interactively with practical exercises, participation from delegates and opportunity for questions and discussion. A vital aspect of our training is having someone with lived experience involved in delivery and sharing their personal testimony.

Aims of the Training Course
~ To increase and improve understanding and awareness of mental health
~ To help delegates understand the causes of mental health problems
~ To recognise signs and symptoms of common mental health issues (such as depression and anxiety) and the way it may affect members of staff and/or volunteers in the workplace
~ To provide knowledge to support colleagues and/or volunteers
~ To provide knowledge to effectively manage one’s own mental wellbeing

Benefits of the Training Course
~ You will feel confident that you have an increased awareness and understanding of mental health and mental illness
~ You will be able to recognise the triggers for poor mental health
~ You will feel confident to develop skills to support colleagues and/or volunteers in the workplace
~ You will feel confident to develop skills to manage your own mental wellbeing in the workplace

Content of the Course
~ What is mental health vs. mental illness?
~ Factors that influence mental health (including workplace triggers)
~ Common mental health issues (focusing on depression and anxiety, links to stress)
~ How to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health problems
~ TRAINER TESTIMONY: The Mental Health Story
~ Supporting colleagues and/or volunteers – guidance and tips
~ Manage your own mental wellbeing in the workplace
~ Signposting/useful resources for further support
~ Q&A Session
