Interested in joining the WNC Cheese Trail at the Principal membership level? This membership level is available to WNC cheesemakers that have a licensed and inspected cheese manufacturing facility located in a member county and uses milk sourced from within 150 miles of their facility for at least 50% of their annual cheese production.

Principal members have voting rights, are required to attend our annual meeting, and to serve on the board of directors as Chair or Vice-Chair at some point during their membership. These are two-year positions.

The annual membership fee is dependent on the amount of your annual gross sales:
- Annual Gross Sales under $200,000 - $100 annual fee
- Annual Gross Sales under $500,000 - $200 annual fee
- Annual Gross Sales under $750,000 - $450 annual fee
- Annual Gross Sales over $750,00 - $600 annual fee

- Listing in our annual WNC Cheese Trail brochure (distribution over 15,000) and our future Digital Map
- Listing and live website link on the WNC Cheese Trail brochure
- Promotion through WNC Cheese Trail social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

- Opportunity to participate in the WNC Cheese Trail Member Video Series (Published on YouTube and distributed across all WNC Cheese Trail social channels)
- Opportunity to participate in our WNC Cheese Trail Passport App
- Opportunity to partner with the WNC Cheese Trail for pairing events and other promotional events
- Access to the growing WNC Cheese Trail membership network comprised of cheesemakers, farm-based businesses, and associated businesses in the region
