Online conference: Countering Shrinking Civic Space and Creating Enabling Environment for Civil Society in the EU/ Borba protiv sužavanja prostora za djelovanje i stvaranje poticajnog okruženja za razvoj civilnoga društva u EU

We are pleased to invite you to the ONLINE conference Countering Shrinking Civic Space and Creating Enabling Environment for Civil Society in the EU which will be held on 24 and 25 November 2022, which will be held via the platform ZOOM.

The conference is organised by the coalition of Croatian civil society organizations (Centre for Peace Studies, Gong, Human Rights House Zagreb, Institute for Political Ecology, Zelena akcija - Friends of the Earth Croatia, Roda - Parents in Action, Croatian Union of Associations for Autism, Clubture Network and the Croatian Youth Network) with an aim to gather representatives of civil society, institutions, academia and other actors working on combating shrinking civic space and to discuss recent policy and other developments, trends and perspectives on creating enabling space for civil society. 

In the first panel of the conference, we will deal with the manifestations of shrinking civic space in different EU member space, while the second will put the focus on SLAPPs as a tool against civil society organizations and activists. In the two panels of the second day of the conference, we will deal with institutional and civil society responses against shrinking civic space and initiatives aiming at creating an enabling environment for civil society. The draft agenda is attached to this invitation. 

The official language of the conference will be English, and we will secure translation in Croatian.

pozivamo Vas na ONLINE konferenciju Borba protiv sužavanja prostora za djelovanje i stvaranje poticajnog okruženja za razvoj civilnoga društva u EU koja će se održati 24. i 25. studenog 2022., preko platforme ZOOM. 

Konferenciju organizira koalicija organizacija civilnoga društva iz Hrvatske (Centar za mirovne studije, Gong, Kuća ljudskih prava Zagreb, Institut za političku ekologiju, Zelena akcija/Friends of the Earth Croatia, Roda - Roditelji u akciji, Savez udruga za autizam Hrvatske, Klubtura i Mreža mladih Hrvatske) s ciljem okupljanja predstavnika civilnoga društva, institucija, akademije i drugih aktera koji rade na borbi protiv sužavanje prostora za djelovanje civilnoga društva te kako bi se raspravilo o aktualnim javnim politikama i drugim događajima, trendovima i perspektivama u stvaranju poticajnog okruženja za civilno društvo. 

Na prvom panelu, bavit ćemo se oblicima sužavanje prostora za civilno društvo u više država članica EU, dok će se drugi panel usredotočiti na SLAPP-ove kao alat protiv organizacija civilnoga društva i aktivista. Na panelima drugog dana konferencije, bavit ćemo se institucionalnim i civilnodruštvenim odgovorima protiv sužavanja prostora za civilno društvo i inicijativama koje žele stvoriti poticajno okruženje za civilno društvo. Nacrt dnevnog reda nalazi se u prilogu ovom pozivu. 

Radni jezik konferencije bit će engleski, a osigurat ćemo simultani prijevod na hrvatski jezik.
