•    ROS architecture and key concepts

Creating your first ROS package
•    Creating and organizing ROS workspaces
•    Writing a simple ROS package
•    Building and compiling packages

Understanding ROS Nodes, Topics and Messages
•    Explanation of nodes and their role
•    Working with ROS topics for data communication

ROS Publishers and Subscribers
•    Implementing ROS publishers and subscribers using Python sample code

Hands-on Robot Control
•    Using ROS to control a simulated robot and a physical robot
•    Implementing basic navigation

Wrap-Up
•    Recap of key concepts and techniques covered in the training

Trainer

Dr Teoh Shen Khang received his Bachelor of Information Technology, first class honours, in Computer Engineering, Master of Engineering Science, and Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at UTAR. He has over 14 years of teaching experience and a special interest in embedded system, robotics, artificial intelligence and video surveillance.

He is an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate level). He has been actively involved in providing quality training to the university and industry such as Huawei Desktop Cloud Solution training for UTeM, Python Programming and AWS Academy Foundations training for UTAR, and Artificial Intelligence training for Daikin R&D Malaysia.

The University also reserves the right to cancel the programme if the number of participants is not sufficient.
