StanCon'25 Proposal Form
Thank you for your interest in organizing an upcoming StanCon! Guidelines for organizing the event can be found at https://discourse.mc-stan.org/t/call-for-stancon-2025/37171. This form gives you an opportunity to address these guidelines.

The Stan Governing Body reviews proposals to select venues for future StanCons (in 2025 and beyond). 

Any event organized under the umbrella of Stan must abide by the Stan Code of Conduct.

Describe why you are interested in hosting a StanCon and  provide reasons why you expect your StanCon to be successful. *
StanCon is organized by a committee. Provide at least the names of (i) a local organizer, (ii) a program chair, and (iii) an organizer who can act as a liaison with the Stan Governing Body and NumFocus.

Also indicate which organizer will act as lead organizer for the event.

StanCon brings together both veteran Stan users and new users. How would the proposed location attract veterans and new users?
How accessible is the proposed location? Briefly describe how a participants (national or international) would travel to the location.
What type of accommodation would be available near the proposed venue? Is there affordable housing for more junior participants and recipients of scholarships?
What sources of funding, in addition to the revenue generated by tickets, do you anticipate? Are there (local) sponsors who would be interested in funding StanCon?

What support does the local institution provide (in of terms funding, access to lecture rooms, etc.)?

Funding helps us keep the ticket prices down and offer scholarships which cover registration and (potentially) travel costs.
