GenLynk aims to bridge the intergenerational communication gap by connecting senior citizens with community volunteers through telephone and video chat conversations. Through these connections, we hope to bring communities closer together and provide local senior citizens with comfort during these potentially isolating times.
Each senior that signs up to GenLynk is matched with a local community volunteer based on their selected preferences, forming a virtual “buddy system.” The people in each buddy pair can then contact each other independently. All information is handled privately and is only given to the partner you are matched with.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form below.
DISCLAIMER: GenLynk’s goal is to form lasting intergenerational bonds and foster new friendships within communities. However, communication between GenLynk “virtual buddies” must be limited to only conversation. Exchanges of any kind, financial or otherwise, or requests for services, such as grocery shopping, running errands, etc. are strictly prohibited. If you should need additional services, please contact your local Council on Aging or senior center.
