If you have a home that uses natural gas or is all-electric, we would appreciate your help and hope you will complete this questionnaire!
This study seeks to understand the levels of methane in the air in homes that have natural gas pipes in them for space and/or water heating, and/or for cooking. Natural gas is made up of 95% methane and it can be in the air in homes at levels that are undetectable to human senses. For comparison, we will be measuring methane concentrations in all-electric homes.
We are going to ask you a few questions about the home and a few optional questions about the residents who live in the home.
This study does not evaluate the safety of gas in homes. If you are concerned about gas leaks, we encourage you to call your gas utility or plumber.
