The Mills E. Godwin Band Boosters is proud to offer two $1000.00 scholarships for graduating members of the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Percussion, or Color guard.  Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1.  Applicants will graduate from Mills E. Godwin High School in May 2024.
2.  Applicants have been a member of the above listed classes or color guard for at least one full year.
3.  Applicants must plan on pursuing post-high school education in an accredited college, university, or trade school.
4.  Applicants have attained a B or better grade in graded band activities or have been a member in good standing in the color guard.
5.  Applicant’s family must be band booster members.

Applications must be submitted no later than, 5:00pm on Friday, May 10, 2024.  Applications and completed essay must be completed on or before the deadline.  Late applications will not be considered.

All applicants must complete the application form and complete the required essay.  

Applicants will be selected by a committee of non-senior parents and Mr. Ramsey using the following criteria:

1.   Student has demonstrated a positive attitude, leadership ability, cooperation, respect for others including adults and students, teamwork, overall contribution to the band, creating camaraderie by including all members of the band.

2.  The quality of the essay – not to exceed 500 words.

Winners of the scholarship will be announced during the Booster Bash in May.  Checks will be written to the winners’ educational institution.
