Being a Homeroom Parent is an exciting opportunity to make a difference for our students, teachers and our school. Homeroom Parents are the link between the teacher and other classroom parents. Each class will have two Homeroom Parents who share the responsibilities of reminding chaperones of upcoming class field trips, coordinating food for class parties, assisting the teachers with other volunteer activities and emailing class parents to keep them informed of school events.
Homeroom Parents also work with the Parents’ Association on behalf of the classroom. This can include spearheading a class project for the Gala, organizing activities during Teacher Appreciation Week, and recruiting volunteers for school wide events such as Fall Festival. One bonus is that each Homeroom Parent will be allowed to chaperone one field trip of their choice.
If you are interested in being a Homeroom Parent, please complete and submit this form. Homeroom Parent selection will be made by the SJEDS administration. If you should have questions about the responsibilities of a Homeroom Parent, please feel free to contact Ann Candler Strohmenger at
