Interest Form for Joining SIECO Reps
The SIECO Reps program run by the Tufts Office of Sustainability program works to encourage sustainable behavior change and to promote environmental initiatives in special interest and greek houses on campus. It began as the GreEco Reps program, which focused on working with Greek Life, but expanded last year to include all wood-frame and on-campus housing that are not primary residence halls. The program seeks to connect students with sustainability resources, hold educational events, encourage green lifestyles, and improve infrastructure in order to bring about positive and permanent change.

As a SIECO Rep your job is to serve as a resource and an advocate for sustainability and environmental issues within your special interest community.  The two fundamental factors of being a SIECO Rep are being passionate about the environment and wanting to create change on campus. Whether you have a specific interest or just a broad interest in the environment, this position is right for you. It is a great way to learn more about the environment, to teach others about your own knowledge of the topic, and to promote sustainable behavior change and outcomes in your community.

A continued focus of the program is to learn about and educate on the intersections between environmental justice, environmentalism, and racial/social justice. This includes how to diversify the field of environmentalism and in turn how this translates to your work in your communities.

Note: You do not need to be an expert now. As long as you are interested in the subject and are willing to learn you are a great fit for this position.
