Social Studies Collective Application: Transforming Teaching & Learning with Primary Sources
Applications are currently limited to educators in:

Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming

Educurious is offering a fully funded professional learning experience to 20 teachers that will focus on using primary source documents from the Library of Congress. Participants will receive a project-based unit on the Reconstruction period with a focus on Black history in the United States. The goals of this project are to support more educators in the U.S. by strengthening their skills and strategies for project-based remote or hybrid teaching and to leverage Library of Congress primary sources in order to develop students’ disciplinary knowledge and skills, as well as provide a more honest portrayal of Black history in the United States.

We welcome your application! Priority application deadline is May 15. Applicants will be contacted by June 1.

This workshop is sponsored in part by the Library of Congress Teaching
with Primary Sources Western Region Program, coordinated by the Metropolitan State University
of Denver.
