Join us for the annual Hudson Mad Hatters' Parade on May 8th, 2021!

The Mad Hatters’ Parade brings together Hudson’s diverse communities in a shared spectacle of the nonsensical. Hats and headdresses, body-extensions and puppets, and wearable assemblages in any form are welcome.

•••This year, in consideration of your fellow Hatters, you must wear a mask which you are free to accessorize, adorn, and artify to your heart’s content. •••

The Parade steps off from the Hudson Area Library at 2 PM and wends its way for a finale at Basilica Hudson.

There are many ways to join the Mad Hatters' Parade. I would like to...

Wear my own piece of wearable art in the Parade! I'll join you in the lineup at 1 PM at the Hudson Area Library. Email me my socially-distanced line-up number!

Volunteer to wear a ready-made costume, a headpiece, or carry a puppet in the Parade! I will meet you at 1pm on May 8th at the Hudson Area Library.

Join the Parade with a small and COVID-safe (not wind or brass) sound or musical ensemble! I will meet you at 1pm at the Hudson Area Library on May 8th. Email me my socially-distanced line-up number!

Be a marshal superhero! I will help stage and lineup the parade (and I will be fully vaccinated two weeks before May 8th). Please email me with more info.

Other:

Would you like to come to a free outdoor Mad Hat Slam on May 1 and May 2? We will provide materials and expertise for you to build your hat (you will need to paint or decorate it at home). Spots are limited for each session to ensure social distance: please tell us your preferred days/times below and we will be in touch with more info!
