What: FIGMENT 2022 (Free Participatory Arts Event)
When: Saturday and Sunday, June 4 - 5, 2022
Where: Snug Harbor Cultural Center, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island NY (held all outside)
This is step one to submitting a project for FIGMENT 2022! Take that leap, it is TOTALLY okay if your idea is in an earlier stage. We will work with you to help develop a final application. We love supporting first-time makers & dreamers as much as established artists, creators and people who love interactivity and creativity but don't think of themselves as artists... yet.
FIGMENT AFTER DARK IS BACK!
FIGMENT will go until 10 pm on Saturday June 4th. In addition to daytime projects, you are invited to submit projects that have a special interactivity when the lights go down. Mark your project as a FIGMENT AFTER DARK project if you wish for your project to be on display from 6-10pm on Saturday June 4th.

We are completely committed to making this event as safe as possible for everyone participating. We will take Covid precautions and follow all governmental guidelines as they evolve. Our goal is to keep artists and participants as safe as possible, as always.

FIGMENT is a free participatory-art event that is 100% volunteer-powered.
This event, started in 2007 on Governors Island in NY harbor, has spread to dozens of cities around the world. FIGMENT is free and open to the public and it is usually held outdoors in a park over one weekend each year.
FIGMENT's mission is to offer free, inclusive and participatory art to every community, removing the barriers of museum and gallery walls and entrance fees and blurring the lines between those who create and those who enjoy art. FIGMENT catalyzes and celebrates an abundance of creativity and passion, challenging artists and our communities to find new ways to create, share, think, and dream.
FIGMENT is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization entirely funded by grants and individual donations. It accepts no corporate sponsorship of any kind. FIGMENT is supported by grants and donations from people like you.
