So you or your student is interested in becoming a member of the Corning Painted Post Winter Guard! That's great news! Here is a little about about the program. We are a competitive winter color guard that starts practices in mid November, starts competing around late January or early February, and has a state championship the first weekend in April.
Typically we rehearse 2 nights a week and Saturdays during the day. We are a combination of high school and middle school students and students do not need any prior experience to join. Attendance at practices is imperative and commitment level needs to be extremely high.
Warning: Students who join this program typically make a ton of friends and become obsessed with color guard :) It is a great motivator, teaches discipline and responsibility, and allows students to find ways to express emotion through art.
We will begin in the middle of November at the CPP Middle School Gym. Dates to follow as soon I have them.
