Support for Humphreys Street Studio Artists
Please fill out the below form to show your support for the 40+ Humphreys Street Studios artists/creative small businesses being preserved as affordable artist workspaces in perpetuity.

Over the past year, the artists and creative small businesses at Humphreys Street Studios (Uphams Corner/Dorchester) have come together to preserve the legacy of HSS artist founders Joe Wheelright and Gneal Widett who passed away in recent years. The goal of the #ARTWORKSHERE, #ARTSTAYSHERE campaign is to support the work the artists have done in finding development partners who will turn the artist studios into an artist-owned and artist-run nonprofit 501c3 in order to preserve the artist workspaces as affordable, in perpetuity. In addition, the development partners plan to create affordable housing in the unused portion of the studio property as well as a shared community space for meetings, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and neighborhood events.

The HSS artist community includes painters, scenic designers, ceramicists, graphic designers, printers, fabricators, metalsmiths, sculptors, jewelry makers, furniture makers, photographers, videographers, and more, some who have been artist tenants for nearly 20 years. HSS artists will hold workshops, demonstrations and other events this summer, free of charge for the neighborhood.

We will not share your contact information with anyone but keep you updated on any developments about our HSS preservation efforts.
