This week we hear John's Resurrection story in the Gospel.  Watch the video below and have a discussion with the following questions.
This Gospel story is slightly different than the other Gospel writers.  Discuss how Mary Magdalene just sees the tomb empty and runs off to find Peter.  In the other Gospels Mary Magdalene sees an angel and goes in and see the tomb is empty. *
Why is it important that the unnamed disciple lets Peter go into the tomb first?  The honor of seeing the Resurrection belongs to Peter because of his relationship with Jesus.   *
Why is it said that the disciples have seen and believe but do not understand?  They knew what was prophesied and when they saw Jesus wasn't in the tomb and saw his burial cloths, they knew that he had risen.  However, just because they saw and believed that Jesus rose from the dead, they still don't understand what was written in the Scriptures and what it all meant. *
