EDUC 598: Interfaith Dialogue in Action (informally known as iBelieve) is a unique course developed by SPARC/The Office of the Chaplain and the GIC (Greenfield Intercultural Center). This course will explore effective interfaith dialogue and action on college campuses through a combination of academic study, facilitated dialogue, and service partnerships. The course provides space for reflection on spiritual identity and equips students of all religious and non-religious backgrounds to engage with one another and gain greater knowledge and personal understanding of different faith traditions, practices, and beliefs.
In Spring 2022 the course will meet on Mondays/Wednesdays 1:45-3:15.
As iBelieve is also an Academically Based Community Service (ABCS) course students will also take part in a semester long service project with local communities of faith.
The course also includes a course retreat - which will be held over MLK weekend, Sun 1/16 - Mon 1/17 (more details coming soon!)
The course is open to all undergraduate and masters students.
** NOTE - This form is for our planning purposes only and is NOT a selective application. Once you've completed the form we'll contact you for a quick check in meeting regarding the course plans for Spring & you will be given a permit to register for the course in Penn in Touch.
