Weed Warriors is a city-wide program focused on restoring our urban forest through the removal of invasive plant species by environmental stewards. All are welcome!
Certified Weed Warriors are volunteers and advocates permitted to work in parks and remove invasive vegetation without the supervision of park employees.
Steps to certification:
1. Attend the 101, 102 and 201a/b course
2. Participate in a group invasive vegetation removal event.
Certified Weed Warriors receive a certification card, Weed Warriors t-shirt, invasive vegetation identification guide, and curriculum resources. Certification and classes are free and open to the public!
Classes are modified to promote social distancing practices. OUR IN-PERSON CLASSES FOR FALL 2021 ARE CURRENTLY WAITLIST ONLY. Classes not taken during Fall 2021 can be made up at a future date; participants on the waiting list will be notified via email if space becomes available. Preference will be given to those who have attended the online classes.
