When: Thursday February 23
CHOICE OF:
  • Half-day 9-12 (please bring your snacks)
  • Full day 9-3 (must bring your lunch)
111 Simms Road, Knowlesville, Carleton County, New Brunswick

The Knowlesville Art & Nature Centre (knowlesvillenature.ca) runs a forest school 4-days a week and each Thursday we welcome homeschooling families to join us.  We have two age groups (5-9 year olds) and (9-12 year olds).  We gather for an outdoor circle of song and movement, then do our daily chores which at times is hauling firewood, shoveling snow, feeding animals, hauling water or sanding icy walkways.  Then we separate into our groups and delve into our story, art and projects for the day.  Snacks and lunch and games are always included as well in the daily rhythm and the land is our classroom, whether we are out in it fully or working with our hands on projects or creative writing in warm spaces indoors or semi-sheltered (weather dependent).  We are offering an immersive experience into our world as part of EECOM 2023.  Children are welcome, but space overall is limited to ten adults.
We're excited to see you there!

This program will be held in large part outside. Attendees are expected to arrive with proper footwear, layers, hat, mitts/gloves for the weather. Also each participant needs to pack a water-bottle and healthy snack (for half day) and an additional hearty lunch (for full day).  The program will take place in a rural area, approximately 20 kms off of the Trans Canada Highway (closest exit is either #172 at Hartland or #153 at Florenceville).

As there is limited space for this activity, registration will occur on a first-come, first-served basis. This form will remain open to collect a wait-list after the first ten spots have been filled. If you must cancel your registration, please email us as soon as possible so we may give your spot to the next person in line. To cancel, please email both tzomi.jazwicki@nben.ca and jordan.kilgour@nben.ca with the words URGENT: CANCELLATION KNOWLESVILLE in the subject line.
