The MOSS Meetup is Idaho’s annual virtual gathering of academic libraries, which will be happening over two half-days between May 2-3, 2023 in Zoom. We are soliciting lightning talks (short presentations) related to our theme: Access.  

‘Equality of access to recorded knowledge and information’ is one of the core values of librarianship. Access can take many forms, such as physical access to library buildings and access to digital resources available online. In order to promote access, academic libraries offer a variety of services and resources. Access also encompasses issues of equity and inclusivity, such as ensuring that library materials and services are available to all members of the community.   

What are Idaho’s academic libraries doing to facilitate access to knowledge and information at their institutions? We’d love to highlight what you’re working on and share your successes! Part of what makes MOSS a great event is that it is an opportunity to hear from a variety of people working in academic libraries about the interesting, exciting, and sometimes stressful things they do. Lightning talks are a way to quickly share something with the group and get feedback on your topic. We are still putting the agenda together, but these lightning talks would take place most likely between 12-2pm MT on Wednesday, May 3.

These virtual presentations would take place over Zoom, and you would be welcome to share your screen to present slides, demonstrate something in real time, or share a video as part of your presentation.
