Aim

To survey the current practice in the management of confirmed traumatic osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures with intact neurology and no instability in terms of:  

Bracing
Percutaneous vertebroplasty and percutaneous balloon kyphoplasty (cement augmentation- CA)

NICE GUIDELINES STANDARD: Percutaneous vertebroplasty and balloon kyphoplasty without stenting (Cement Augmentation techniques) are recommended as options for treating osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures in people who have severe ongoing pain after a recent, unhealed vertebral fracture despite optimal non-invasive pain management options and in whom the pain has been confirmed to be at the level of the fracture by physical examination and imaging.
