The Young IRO Best Mentor Award  💡🏅🍾
Within Young IRO we value the role that mentors have in the development of young talents. Do or did you have a mentor in the early days of your career? Someone who opened your eyes, who guided you in the right direction, was a source of advice and allowed you to make mistakes in a safe environment? In short, a mentor who ensured that you could grow faster than you would if you had to figure it all out yourself.

If you want to thank this person and put them in the spotlight, you will have the opportunity to nominate him or her for the Young IRO Award for best mentor! The concept of this event is fairly simple. Young IRO will be looking for the most inspiring and unique mentoring stories about why someone's mentor should be crowned 'Mentor of the Year'. This award ceremony will be part of the 50-year anniversary event of IRO on 26 November '21, about which more details will follow later.

There are really no requirements other than that it is someone who has helped you and possibly other colleagues with those important first steps in your career. It's important to mention this does not necessarily need to be someone via a formal mentor program, but can also be a colleague that inspires you and has helped you develop as a person!

How does this work? We ask you to give a short motivation with good examples that show your nominee should be the winner of Mentor of the Year 2021! A competent jury will select 3 finalists for which all of you can vote. The prize will be awarded on the IRO 50 year anniversary in November.
