Gifted 101: Common Characteristics & Myths

Two presentations, choose one:
Morning: 10h00-12h30
Evening: 19h30-22h00
Registration closes: May 10
LOCATION: Paris 75016, (located near Radio France.)
RSVP closes May 10. Space is limited. The event is held at a private residence.
Minimum of 8 participants are needed for the meeting to take place, maximum of 15.
PARTICIPATION FEE: 7€ for current members of Gifted in France; 12€ for non-members.
Members have priority.
WHO IS THIS MEETING FOR: Parents, educators, child minders, mental health professionals.

You will be given the option to join/renew your membership to Gifted in France for the 2018-19 academic year. The membership is good for the whole family. For Gifted 101, it is not obligatory to be a GiF member, though members have priority. All fees go towards GiF, a not-for-profit association loi 1901
Two DVD presentations featuring the late Dr. James T. Webb, 45 minutes each.
Followed by a discussion and questions/answers.
FORMAT:
A. IS MY CHILD GIFTED? IF SO, WHAT CAN I EXPECT? (45 mins)
"Dr.Webb describes the most common basic characteristics of gifted children and shows how/why some of these traits can actually result in underachievement, power struggles and failure to be recognized as bright."
B. DO GIFTED CHILDREN NEED SPECIAL HELP (40 mins)
"As they enter school, gifted children are frequently criticized for the very characteristics that make them who they are. Dr. Webb describes the traits, common behaviors, and challenges for gifted children from preschool through adolescence."
C. Question/answer/discussion period with participants.
