Alleycat Acres produce rescue by bike volunteer registration form | Tuesday Mornings | Summer & Fall 2021
The Alleycat Acres urban farm at the corner of Marion + 26th in the Central District neighborhood has requested help delivering around 45 pounds of fresh kale, chard, and squash to the local Byrd Barr Place Food Bank every week. This fresh produce that you will be delivering will be harvested fresh that morning by Common Acre volunteers at their Alleycat urban farms throughout the city. Using your bike to connect fresh and locally grown produce with your local food bank and the food insecure families that they support is a fun and quick way to have a big positive impact on your neighborhood while out riding your bike!

The Pedaling Relief Project is looking for 5 volunteers who are able to ride with us at least 2 Tuesdays a month. The meet up point and time for this volunteer opportunity is at 2521 E Marion St, Seattle, WA 98122 (map) next to the chicken coop at 9am. You will need to be able to carry at least 30 pounds of produce on your bike using a rack, basket, panniers, or a backpack. This produce rescue should take around 30 minutes to make.

If you have any questions or run into any issues signing up please contact Maxwell at maxwellb@cascadebicycleclub.org

Are you able to carry at least 30 pounds of produce on your bike?
The Marion + 26th Alleycat Acres urban farm that we are rescuing produce from gives us around 2 banana boxes full of produce every week. The banana boxes normally weigh around 15 each and we generally repack the produce that the farm gives us into our bike bags, backpacks, or strap the produce onto our racks. We recommend that you bring along with you a couple of paper grocery bags to make repacking the produce for travel by bike a lot easier.
