The mission of the Oakwood Garden Club is to increase the knowledge of gardening and beautification of the community through study and experience. It was formed in 1950 and is Raleigh’s oldest garden club. The founder is Vallie Henderson, an avid gardener who was passionate about beautifying her surroundings.
Grant Amount: Up to $1,000 to be used for projects and/or operating expense
Funding Guidelines: The Oakwood Garden Club grant applications will be focused on organizations that (1) have proximity to the Oakwood neighborhood; (2) have a gardening component; and/or (3) enhance public health and well-being.

Application Deadlines: Applications will be accepted each quarter of the calendar year. The second 2024 call for applications will be due on Saturday June 15, 2024. There will be two more deadlines in 2024 around approximately August and November.
Grant Follow-up: Grantees are expected to report on their outcomes within two months of receiving funds and also requested to promote the donation through any of their marketing communication channels.
