Thank you for your interest in USA Climbing Judge Certification, and thank you for helping to improve the quality of USA Climbing events! USA Climbing competitions cannot happen without the generous help from people like you!
For more details regarding the Certification Program please visit the USAC Judges Community page: https://usaclimbing.org/community/judges/
Level 2 Overview: Level 2 Judge Certification indicates that the Judges Committee has deemed that an individual is qualified to serve as a Primary Climbing Judge in the disciplines reflected by their discipline endorsements at Qualifying-, Regional-, and Divisional-level USAC-sanctioned competitions. Level 2 Climbing Judges can have discipline endorsements in Boulder, Lead/TR, or both. Level 2 Certification also indicates that an individual is prepared to serve as a Secondary Climbing Judge at national-level USAC-sanctioned competitions and USAC-supported IFSC World Cup events.
Level 2 Application Requirements: At a minimum, one must
have a current Level 1 Climbing Judge membership before applying for Level 2 certification, and
have successfully Judged for two rounds or sessions (at one or more events) in the pursued-endorsement discipline at USAC competitions or USAC-Supported IFSC competitions, one of which must be an isolation-format round at a USAC Regional or Divisional Championship event; each of the two rounds/sessions must have a Level 2 or greater Certified Judge, or Head Judging Official, who can serve as a reference for the specific rounds/sessions listed by the applicant, and that may be the same individual.
Note that having successfully judged at more than two sessions and/or events strengthens one’s application.
If you believe that you meet or exceed the minimum requirements, please fill out the form below. The Judges Committee will review all requests and try to respond in a timely manner. The Judges Committee usually meets every two weeks, but it may take longer to evaluate certification requests depending on the Committee's backlog and the need to collect reference material. Providing the requested information below will expedite the process.
