Religious Education Registration 2020/2021

Dear Parents,

If you would like to have your child participate in next year’s Religious Education classes, you need to register by completing the following form.

After you complete this form, please submit a check for the appropriate tuition fees to the parish office or drop it off (appropriately marked) in the collection basket at Mass.

The tuition for Religious Education is:

$125 for one student
$225 for two students
$300 for three or more students

However, if registration and payment are received by May 31, 2020, there is an early registration discount of $20.

If you are absolutely unable to pay the full religious education fee, please let me know and I would be glad to work with you on a payment plan. No one will be denied religious education because of an inability to pay.

The Religious Education Program is here to assist you with educating your children in the Catholic Faith. If there is any way that you feel we could better achieve this goal, please let me know.

Thank you very much for your support and may God bless you and your families.

Christ's Peace,

- Paul Fahey

**COVID-19 Updates:

After speaking with the diocese, religious ed directors at other parishes, our catechists, and the ministry staff, we decided that for the 2020/2021 school year we will be offering a remote family ministry program for 1st-8th grade religious ed.

A lay minister at another parish (Monica Pope) developed a family ministry program that the diocese is promoting that I really liked. It offers a combination of short videos and a printed book to provide content and facilitate discussions and prayer for families to do together. I really liked the material I was able to preview and I trust Monica a lot based on the other programs she's created. This program would offer a lesson every three to four weeks and would include a printed textbook for every family.

So right now my plan is to adopt this program and, depending on what the full program includes, add some of our own supplemental material to it. From what I've seen I think I may add additional activities and discussion questions geared specifically for younger students as well as maybe some material directly related to First Reconciliation and First Communion.

Concerning tuition, we are still asking families to pay the religious ed fee this year. We recognize that while our costs won't decrease significantly, what we can offer students is more limited. We also know that a lot of families are under more of a financial burden because of the pandemic. No family will be prevented from participating in anything due to cost. If a family can only pay part of the fee or would like to set up a payment plan we can easily work that out. Please contact me with any questions or concerns!
