It is important that we know you have reviewed the High School Parent/Student Handbook and understand the school’s expectations for students. It has not been uncommon in the past for some parents/guardians to indicate that they never received the Parent/Student Handbook. It is therefore reasonable to understand that these parents/guardians will be at a disadvantage in assisting the school in providing a purposeful, safe, and orderly school environment for all students.  The link for the handbook can be found at www.lhssau30.org. under the Students & Families tab.  Mrs. Hinds has sent you a notice in Parent Square regarding this year's handbook receipt.

On occasion, representatives from the media or the Laconia School District wish to photograph, videotape, and/or interview students in connection with school programs or events.  Educating the public is one of our objectives.  The entire community benefits from knowing about the needs and abilities of our students, and about the programs we offer to children and families.  Areas of publication may include the school website, Facebook, Twitter, or event publications.

Federal public law 107-110, section 9528 of the ESEA, “No Child Left Behind Act” requires school districts to release student names, addresses, and telephone numbers to military recruiters upon their request.  This will enable military recruiters to call students at home.  The school is required to notify you of your right to Opt-Out from this by requesting that the school not release your information to military recruiters.  The completion and return of this form serves as your request to withhold your private information.  As a parent you have a right to request that your/your student’s private information is not released to military recruiters and others.
