Session Theme: C - Celebration, Creed, Christmas and more!

Our theme this month was looking at a couple ways the letter C in Eucharist can help us better understand what the Eucharist is and also for us to better understand the parts of the Mass.

Different Ways to Pray and Types of Prayer Activities

One of the questions that came up a lot in September's what/why question activity was variations on what does it mean to pray, why do we pray, how do we pray, etc. So we will be including a different type of prayer and/or way to pray each month to give you more options at home.

Litany Prayer: This month's Prayer experience is a litany. This type of prayer is has two parts, a petition and a response. Our opening and closing prayer are types of Litanies. Look at the following steps to creating your own litany and spend some time this month creating a family litany prayer.

Have you or anyone in your family prayed with a Litany before? What was the reaction to this type of prayer and/or the idea of creating your own prayer? *

Each month we receive a short presentation from one of our priests or deacons. This month, Deacon Mike gave us a reflection on what it means that we celebrate the Eucharist and also discusses a few of the many "C" words that are part of the Mass. We also discussed and recited the Creed that we say at every Mass. This short section follows Deacon Mike's talk in the video. Please watch the video and answer the following questions.

Please feel free to share any insights or ask any questions that you have about his presentation.

Reciting the Creed: Take some time this month to pray this creed as a family and discuss what each of the 4 'I believe" sections mean and/or what some of the challenging words in the creed mean. Please let us know if you have specific questions and we can address them in a future session.
