The SeaSensors project uses cutting-edge underwater acoustic technology to generate detailed information on blast fishing activity in areas around the East African coast. The underlying patterns in the data found are explored to provide an understanding of how blast fishing changes by season, time, and according to the weather, and all this information will be used to try inform enforcement activities, and will be available to conservationists, policy makers, and regulatory authorities.
