Women's History Month
In celebration of Women's History Month, West Cobb Regional Library is proud to have local resident Mary-Ann Fitzpatrick share her career experiences in the United States Marines. Mary-Ann joined the U. S. Marines in 1949 shortly after The Women's Services Armed Services Integration Act of 1948 gave women permanent status in the Regular and Reserve forces of the Marines. During her ground-breaking career, she served as a certified Air Traffic Controller and was designated a "backseater" Airborne Radar Operator when the Marines Air Wing received the F4B Phantom. Please join us for a fascinating discussion honoring women's achievements.
