I, the undersigned, support the Planned Area Development (PAD) amendment to reimagine the Oro Valley Marketplace as a destination entertainment center with retail, dining, residential and hospitality. Adding residential and hotel components will provide additional visitors and residents within a walkable environment to create a new, vibrant, Urban Village environment.  The reimagining of Oro Valley Marketplace to Oro Valley Village Center involves in-filing the currently underutilized undeveloped pad areas with new uses to create a new innovative “retaildential” village.  Other malls and large retailers across the United States have been able to revitalize existing centers by incorporating apartment living spaces along with hospitality, office and retail.  I ask the Town Council to support this development through the PAD and other public processes because it will benefit the region and the Town in attracting new residents, visitors and tourists.  This vision is critical to moving Oro Valley’s future forward.
