Introduction
In the framework of the EU project PELAGOS , a transnational Mediterranean Cluster in Blue Energy (BE) was established in order to accelerate the development of BE sector in Mediterranean coastal, insular and marine regions. The Blue Energy Cluster powered by PELAGOS project (BEC PELAGOS), achieved to bring together 455 actors across the Mediterranean coming from industry, academia, civil society and the public following the 4-helix approach and thus encompassing actors from the whole value chain. The number of actors and their active participation in BEC PELAGOS activities throughout project duration, highlight the success of PELAGOS project in creating an innovative community of actors, under adverse framework conditions as highlighted above. In this respect, BEC PELAGOS can be considered as a breakthrough and is expected to act as a catalyst for BE sector development in the future.
During the Final Conference, PELAGOS partners will present & share Project results to EU policy makers, financial institutions &other stakeholders. A Transnational Forum on Blue Energy will also take place, where Project representatives will discuss & share experiences with EU policy makers, financial institutions & other stakeholders over the development & deployment of MRE & Blue energy sector in MED.
The Conference is mainly addressed to representatives of SMEs, enterprises, Interest groups including NGOs involved in BE sector &PPs (other) composed of Universities, BSOs, NGOs & Energy Agents, Maritime Clusters, Regional Authorities, TT Offices & Innovation Poles.
During the last session of the Conference, a joint exhibition will follow with enterprises presenting their MRE products, services & technologies to attendants.
