The 2019 National Biodiversity Championship will be conducted this year in Louisville, Kentucky Sunday, 11 August 2019 - 14 August, 2019 under the auspices of the Natural History Section of the Ecological Society of America. The award ceremony will be held at the Natural History Section mixer on 14 August at the Kentucky International Convention Center at 6:30 PM.
AIM AND SCOPE: We would like to encourage the interaction of Louisville-local and visiting Natural History communities through the documentation of the macroscopic diversity of life in a 100-mile radius of Louisville.
Teams will consist of 2-5 individuals with individual iNaturalist registrations, pre-registered as a "Project" through the competition administration. Questions can be sent to

https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/national-biodiversity-championship-2019 . This page will also host leaderboards during the competition.
Observations can be dated from 12:01 Midnight on 11 August to 5:30 PM 14 August.
Observations must be entered into iNaturalist, and registered as either "Research Grade" or "Needs ID". "Casual" observations will not be included in team totals.
Prizes and fame will be lavished upon those found worthy of the title "National Biodiversity Champions"!
