2022 Alva Cooper Awards Application
MNYCCPOA is currently accepting submissions for the Alva C. Cooper Awards for Best Practices in Career Development. These awards recognize the outstanding work MNYCCPOA members, and foster our mission of promoting professional growth and exchanging ideas, information and creative solutions concerning career development issues. This year, submissions that address advancing diversity, equity and inclusion on campus and/or involve innovative pandemic programming are highly encouraged.
Description of Awards: There are three awards for best practices. The awards are as follows:
* New Programs 0-3 yrs: $ 1,000
The new program category describes a program a new program or new idea that is developing
* Existing Programs 4+ years: $ 1,000
The existing program category describes a program that is already in operation with a new element or twist
* Creativity & Innovation: $ 1,000
The creativity and innovation category describes a new or existing program with a creative or innovative twist
All awards will be made to the member's school, to be used by the Career Services Office. In the event that the work was not related to work conducted at a school i.e. a thesis, dissertation or graduate school project then the prize will be awarded directly to the winner.
If you are not a current member of MNYCCPOA and would like to submit an application for consideration, you may have a current MNYCCPOA member sponsor your application. If your submission wins, your membership fee will be deducted from the award amount.
Deadline to submit an application is April 1st 2022
