Information Relative to Student Placement
At River Valley School we strive to place children in the classrooms where they and others are offered the best opportunity to learn. Teams of teachers develop class lists -- the team includes your child’s teacher, teachers from your child’s grade, teachers from next year’s grade, inclusive education teachers and administrators. The team considers a variety of academic, social and emotional factors before a child is assigned to a class.

Even if you have spoken with your child's teacher regarding placement for next year, we need you to complete the information form so this communication is captured and can be utilized by the team in case of an unforeseen circumstance like a teacher medical leave etc. Teachers have numerous conversations with families throughout the year and the best way to provide current and up to date information regarding placement for next year is both through a chat with the homeroom teacher, AND completion of the placement form.

This form offers parents an opportunity to highlight important information about their child to be considered during the placement process and is not intended to choose your child's next teacher.

We would kindly ask that this form is completed and submitted by May 17, 2024 so we can start our placement process.
