Girls Rock! Chicago is excited to introduce "Bandwagon," our virtual after-school program for Fall 2020. Bandwagon is a six-week experience in which students will create and showcase up to 3 original songs. Bandwagon will take place on Tuesday afternoons over the course of a six-week session, culminating in a celebratory weekend showcase. Week 1 will start on Tuesday, September 15th. The final class will be on Tuesday, October 20th with a showcase that following weekend (showcase date/time TBD). We hope to run another session in November and December as well.

Each afternoon at Bandwagon will include 1 hour of band practice at 4:30 pm, followed by a 30-minute activity for the whole group (workshops, concerts, etc), and concluding with 30 minutes of optional time for students to receive additional instrument support. Bandwagon is open to girls, transgender youth of all identities, and gender-expansive youth, ages 8 - 16. We will loan instruments and gear to campers who need them, and financial aid will be available in order to make this program accessible to all students.

Our goal is that students will progress on their instruments and in their bands, while enjoying and expanding upon their own self-expression, creativity, and collaboration! We know that everyone needs an opportunity to safely socialize during this pandemic, and we hope this space can help fulfill that.
