Student Aide Application - Scoggins Middle School

Job Description

Student aides will perform a variety of tasks including:

  • Shelving books and materials

  • Straightening bookshelves

  • Checking books in and out

  • Unpacking and processing new books

  • Making deliveries

  • Laminating materials

  • Helping with bulletin boards and special displays

  • Setting up school book fairs

  • Delivering items to classrooms

  • Assisting the Area Tech

  • Tasks for teachers like cutting and assembling


Student aides will work under the direction of the librarian, Mrs. Miraglia. 


NOTE:  The student aide position does not require outside assignments but is a class.  Students are expected to work throughout the class period each day and master the skills necessary for the position.  This is not a study hall.


Application Requirements

  • Must be a current 7th grader. Only 8th graders are allowed to be student aides.

  • Must complete an application and turn in on time.  

  • Must have the approval of parents/guardians and school counselor.

  • Must provide 1 recommendation from a Scoggins teacher.

  • Must have an excellent discipline record
